Featuring live music, cocktails, food, and family-friendly summer activities. From sprinklers and sidewalk chalk to a watermelon eating contest, there will be something for everyone! Plus, don’t miss the barbeque smoking demonstration from Pig Beach BBQ.

The event will also include a showcase of our REAL Infused Exotics NuLu Summer Fest Cocktail Competition featuring Teremana Tequila which will take place leading up to the event.

Preceding Summer Fest is Clash of the Cocktails, NuLu's Cocktail Competition, on Tuesday, July 11 at Lou Lou on Market!


To kick off this year's NuLu Summer Fest, we are hosting a Clash of the Cocktails Competition, presented by REAL Infused Exotics featuring Teremana Tequila, on Tuesday, July 11 at Lou Lou on Market!

Bartenders from NuLu bars and restaurants will demonstrate their cocktails to our panel of judges while guests sample the competitor's entries alongside appetizers and live entertainment from the Small Batch Brass band. The winning bartender will receive a $500 cash prize.

Congrats to Jordan Cahill with Corridor Bar on winning first place in the Judge's Choice category. Don't forget to vote for your favorite cocktail via the link below!


The public will have the opportunity to select the best cocktail during The People’s Choice Competition, which will take place July 12-20 at the competitors’ bars and restaurants for seven days.

Voting will take place online through The Scout Guide Louisville and the winning cocktail will be announced during NuLu Summer Fest on July 22. The People's Choice winner will receive a $500 cash prize.

Larry Rice is a renowned restaurateur and entrepreneur from Louisville, Kentucky, known for founding two of the city's most iconic bars - The Silver Dollar and The Pearl of Germantown. Born and raised in Louisville, Rice grew up with a love for good food and a passion for hospitality. Rice worked in the restaurant industry for several years before becoming an independent restaurateur. In 2011, he opened his first establishment, The Silver Dollar, a Southern-inspired restaurant and bar specializing in bourbon whiskey. The restaurant soon became a hit, attracting locals and visitors alike with its delicious food, vintage decor, and extensive bourbon selection.

Jared Schubert is a Legend, icon, role model, celebrity, these are just a few words that are never used when describing Jared Schubert. A long-time staple in the Louisville beverage industry, Jared’s had the pleasure of co-founding Camp Runamok as well as working on operations for, The Bourbon Classic, POPfest Kansas City, The Bourbon Affair and Tales of the Cocktail. He’s been in such publications as Imbibe, Punch and GQ. You can find him running Commonwealth Tap a retail and by the drink bar in Norton Commons.

Eric King is the anchor of Good Morning Kentuckiana on WHAS11. He’s a Murrow and Emmy award-winning journalist with more than 20 years of on-air experience stretching across the country. Eric was born and raised in the heart of Bourbon Country, (Bardstown) and educated at the University of Louisville.Eric is an avid traveler working his way through all seven continents and all four tennis majors.

Katie Meinhart is the owner of Six Sisters Boutique and President of the Nulu Business Association. Katie has been a part of the NuLu community for the past 6 years. As a University of Louisville alumni and born Louisvillian, Katie has a passion for all things local. She is a mother of two young kiddos and loves to shop small, eat local and travel with her husband and family. 

Bri Hlava is a highly accomplished beverage specialist, an active bartender locally and abroad, Owner/Operator of POCO Pop Ups, President of the Kentucky Chapter of The United States Bartenders Guild and a member of The LEE Initiative, a local nonprofit working towards equity for women in the hospitality industry. From food and beverage program ideation, development, and management to a body of industry conference and brand activations, Bri has developed one of the most respected palates in the region and is well known for her community involvement and mentorship.

When is NuLu Summer Fest?

July 22nd, 2023. 12-7pm

Are animals allowed in the festival?

Only service animals are allowed. We DO NOT allow pets. We have informed our security officers to politely escort people who bring their pets out of the festival.

Does it cost anything to attend?

No, we are a FREE festival for you to enjoy all the activities and music. Vendors are set up and many will be selling their locally or regionally handcrafted items. Food and drinks will be available at a number of locations. Beer, wine, and cocktails will be available for cash or credit card. ATMs will be set up throughout the festival.

Where can I park?

There are several side streets in the area that have free parking on the weekend as well as surface lots. Please be sure to check the meter before leaving your car to be sure payment is not needed. Some surface lots will require payment.

What type of food will there be?

There is a variety of food to choose from. We try to offer something for everyone.

Is this a kid friendly festival?

Yes! There will be several activities for all to enjoy.

Does NuLu Summer Fest take credit cards?

Most vendors accept credit cards, however we will have several ATM’s in the area if you prefer to pay with cash.  This saves the vendors a little money.  Individual vendors can choose to take cash or cards.
